«The Plantagenet Falcon» is produced in 1 troy ounce (31.1 g) of the purest gold. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Elizabeth the Second during her official accession to the throne. The background of the image is a guilloche pattern of the mint. Around the circle are inscriptions: «ELIZABETH II», «100 POUNDS», «D. G. REG. F. D.» («By the Grace of God the Queen, Defender of the Faith»).
The reverse shows a falcon with spread wings, sitting on a heraldic shield with an image of himself. The background is a notch of thin lines woven in the form of a chain mail. On the circumference there is information about the gold coin: the year of issue, metal grade, etc.
