"Swallow Nest" is one of the most popular investment coins in Ukraine. It is dedicated to the landmark of the same name in Southern Crimea, built in 1912 by the famous architect engineer S.V. Sherwood. The coin has repeatedly won prizes, including in international competitions.
So, at the XVIII salon of numismatics, medalists and banknotes "Vicenza numismatic 2009," held in Italy, she received first place in the nomination of international awards "Vicenza Palladio." The reason for such a high assessment was the high accuracy of the reconstruction of the architectural structure on the coin.
The currency was issued in 2008. The obverse depicts a sea wave and a seagull, in the upper part - the small state emblem of Ukraine. Here, in a semicircle, the inscription was placed: "National Bank of Ukraine." Closer to the center, the face value is minted - 50 hryvnia and the year of production.
The reverse with striking accuracy and detail depicts the "Swallow Nest" - a magnificent castle resembling medieval European residences of monarchs. The coin is made of gold 0.900 samples. The total weight is 17.28 g, of which pure precious metal is 15.55 g. Made as a "pruff."
