The reverse features the gold-plated One Ring suspended from a chain and revealing the fiery Eye of Sauron, surrounded by portraits of key characters from the saga, including Gollum, the wizard, and the Ring-bearer. The composition is completed by the inscription “UN ANNEAU POUR LES GOUVERNER TOUS,” the French version of the iconic phrase “One Ring to rule them all.” The obverse continues the theme with the One Ring rising above the Eye of Sauron amid flame-like textures inspired by Mount Doom, together with the inscriptions of the French Republic, denomination, and year of issue.
